JNT University has two components in the evaluation of students.
  1. Sessional work in theory and in practical subjects
  2. End Semester / Annual Examinations

In the present scheme Sessional work carries 20% of marks and end examination carries 80% of marks. The Sessional work involves a number of Mid semester examinations for theory subjects and evaluation of day to day practical work followed by an internal practical examination along with Viva voce in practical subjects.

End examination in theory and practical are of three hours duration.

The performance of students is evaluated subject-wise and semester-wise. The students can be promoted from first year to second year based on the fulfillment of the attendance requirements. However, for promotion to third from second year or to fourth year from third year is guided by the requirements specified in the academic regulations of JNT University.
