Program Educational Objectives (PEOs) - B.Tech (MECH):

  • Preparation & Learning Environment: To prepare and provide student with an academic environment for students to excel in postgraduate programs or to succeed in industry / technical profession and the life-long learning needed for a successful professional career.
     
  • Core Competence: To provide students with a solid foundation in mathematical, scientific and engineering fundamentals required to solve engineering problems and also to pursue higher studies.
     
  • Breadth: To train students with good scientific and engineering breadth so as to comprehend, analyze, design, and create novel products and solutions for the real life problems.
     
  • Professionalism: To inculcate in students professional and ethical attitude, effective communication skills, teamwork skills, multidisciplinary approach, and an ability to relate engineering issues to broader social context.
     

Program Outcomes (PO's)- B.Tech (MECH):

  • ENGINEERING KNOWLEDGE: Student will demonstrate knowledge in fundamentals of mathematics, science and engineering.
  • PROBLEM ANALYSIS: Student will demonstrate an ability to identify, formulate and solve problems in key areas of Design, Production and Thermal of Mechanical Engineering discipline.
  • DESIGN / DEVELOPMENT OF SOLUTIONS: Student will demonstrate an ability to design and conduct experiments, analyze and interpret data related to various areas of Mechanical Engineering.
  • COMPLEX PROBLEM ANALYSIS: Student will demonstrate ability in conducting investigations to solve problems using research based knowledge and methods to provide logical conclusions.

  • To empower the students by providing necessary knowledge base, critical thinking and problem solving capabilities in the field of Computer Aided Design & Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAD/CAM) and allied fields so that they can excel in their profession, in industry, higher studies and Research & Development.
  • To develop core competencies in the field of CAD/CAM, so as to conduct experiments, comprehend, analyze, design and use appropriate techniques and CAD/CAM&AFEA tools to provide optimal solutions for the industry related problems.
  • To inculcate the responsibility to the society at large by sensitizing regulatory and Intellectual Property related issues along with communication skills and to promote entrepreneurship with sufficient knowledge of project/ finance management techniques for ensuring their career success.
  • To motivate the students not only to be excellent in academics, professional ethics, team work, leadership skills but also to be lifelong learners in upcoming technologies for successful professional career.

  • Post graduates will demonstrate their ability to acquire the state of the art knowledge and to expand frontiers in the field of CAD/CAM Engineering.

  • Post graduates will demonstrate the ability of problem solving skills to find optimal solutions in the area of CAD /CAM Technologies including the considerations of public health, safety, cultural society and environmental problems. in the core areas of expertise.

On completion of M. Tech (CAD/CAM), students will be able to

  • Analyse, design and develop mechanical systems to solve complex engineering problems by integrating modern mechanical engineering tools, software and equipment’s.
  • Adopt a multidisciplinary approach to solve real-world industrial problems through skills gained through numerical CAD/CAM&AFEA modeling techniques and experimental learning activities.
  • Independently carry out research / investigation to solve practical problems and write / present a substantial technical report/document.

  • Scholarship of Knowledge: Acquire in-depth knowledge of Thermal Engineering  discipline or professional area,  with an ability to discriminate, evaluate, analyze and synthesize.
  • Critical Thinking: Analyze complex engineering problems critically in thermal Engineering courses and  apply independent judgment for  conducting research in a wider theoretical, practical and simulation.
  • Problem Solving: Think laterally and originally, conceptualize and solve engineering problems related to thermal engineering and  evaluate a wide range of potential solutions for those problems and arrive at feasible, optimal solutions in the core areas of  thermal Engineering.
